HIGH Gorgeous Piña-Co-Canna Body Butter
Welcome to the first "Wait...I love this" product review on inex women! A couple of things to note before we dive in:
1. We are not paid to try any product that we review
It's our practice to first buy a product, use it for a while, and if - and only if - we love it, we'll write an unsolicited review.
2. We are not doctors (sorry, grandma)
We're just two ladies who love trying out different cannabis products and sharing the love for the ones that rock with our friends (that's you!) So, don't take our word as gospel, always try things out for yourself and know that everyone reacts uniquely to different products.
3. We are not super rich + can't be high all the time
...and therefore we have not tried all of the cannabis products out on the market. This means that although we love the products we review here, there could very well be a product in that category that's even more delightful that we just don't know about or haven't tried yet. AKA, this is not an exhaustive list of all amazing cannabis products.
And with that, we give you our first product review of the High Gorgeous Piña-Co-Canna Body Butter!
by Baily Hancock Glick
I picked up the High Gorgeous Piña-Co-Canna Body Butter on my first trip ever to a dispensary. I walked in and very quickly became overwhelmed with how many products there were to explore, and the High Gorgeous packaging immediately grabbed my attention. My favorite part of going into a dispensary is talking to the Budtenders (that's what the people who work at dispensaries are called - it's like bartenders but... ya know... for bud) because they're always so knowledgeable, and entertain my many questions.
I pointed to the High Gorgeous line and asked, "what on earth is that??" because, until that moment, I didn't realize you could do anything with cannabis but smoke it or eat it. She explained how amazing cannabis was for your skin, not to mention its primary benefit of pain and inflammation relief.
My next question was, "So... if I slather this body butter all over me after a shower, am I going to be super duper beyond high?" Short answer - nope. Topicals (cannabis-infused lotions, salves, oils, or sprays) are non-psychoactive, so you won't get the classic "high" that you would if you consumed it in other ways. This is great news for people who want the therapeutic benefits of cannabis without potentially being unable to function in a sober capacity.
High Gorgeous has quite a few brightly-colored products, from cellulite treatment lotion to bubble bath soap, to lip balm. I ended up choosing the Piña-Co-Canna Body Butter because of the smell - it took me right back to my college days when I used to drown myself in The Body Shop's Piñita Colada Body Butter. It's got a light, fruity, pineapple smell that doesn't even hint at there being cannabis included - no skunky weed odor to be found.
Then there's the texture - it's thick without being heavy, and left my skin feeling smooth and moisturized for hours. Rich in Vitamin A, C, and E, it's chock-full of vitamins and nutrients that my skin can't seem to get enough of. I have naturally dry skin, so I've even added this to my face washing/moisturizing routine in the morning and at night (that is, when I remember to wash my face before bed.) Plus, it's paraben-free and vegan-friendly, so I don't have to stress about putting harsh chemicals on my money-maker.
Other than being a fabulous addition to my skincare routine, it's also fantastic for sore muscles. I went to a particularly punishing spin class, and after coming home and having a good tub soak, I rubbed the body butter all over paying particular attention to my lower back and thighs. Ordinarily, I'd wake up the next day unable to walk upright without pain, but instead, I felt only a mild ache in my muscles. I rubbed a bunch more on the sore spots and was able to work out again that afternoon without suffering.
I've been using the Piña-Co-Canna Body Butter for about three months now, and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite bath and body products I've purchased in a long time, cannabis-infused or otherwise. I have one of those deep, vertical, in-between-the-eyes wrinkles (I call it my incredulous line), and after rubbing a bit on it each day it actually seems to be fading. #Thisis33
So, if you're in the market for a luxurious body lotion that leaves your skin dewy, moisturized, and smelling like a tropical vacation while helping sore muscles bounce back, give it a shot. I'm excited to work my way through the rest of the High Gorgeous product line and see if the others are equally as magical.
